About the Speaker

“Mir Yasir Ali was born and raised in Peoria, Illinois. He attended college at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, where he was also enrolled in Army ROTC. After graduating from Illinois in 2000, Mir commissioned as an Army officer and served 7 years on active duty. His service included 2 combat deployments to Afghanistan, where he commanded a Special Forces A-Team, more commonly known as Green Berets. Mir received 3 Bronze Stars and the Purple Heart during his combat deployments. In 2007, Mir completed his service at the rank of Captain and attended law school at the University of Michigan. He is now a senior associate at the law firm Schiff Hardin LLP. Mir lives in Lisle with his wife and kids.”
